Owls On the Line Fleece hoody

This hoody was part of a custom collab set on BBM with Lisa from The Nappy Garden.
The customer choose everything about it, the fleece colour, applique fabric and the size.

It's taken me far longer to finish than I would have liked as firstly I think I poisoned myself with raw chicken! Resulting in me not starting on it for a couple of days and then just when it was all done I managed to burn the pocket slightly with the iron-GRRRRR! So have spent today remaking a new pocket and sewing it on.

But it's finally done and ready to send to Lisa tomorrow so she can match the colours from it to dye the yarn to match.

note: the blue fleece in the bottom photo is not true to life, but the colours in the fabric are spot on.

Tiger Hoody

We've been getting quite a bit of use out of the penguin fleece hoody I made Freddie the other week that I have been meaning to make him another, especially whilst the weather is freezing.

So here's the finished item.

DSC09919

Had fun and games with it though as I made it too small in the body and it only just fitted so I decided to ensure he gets more wear out of it I'd add stretchy panels into the sides which has really changed the dynamic of it and contrasts perfectly with the tiger applique.

And here it is plain before I added the pocket and tiger applique.

Boat Top

I got really bored of one of Freddie's plain blue tops so brightened it up with a boat applique.

Fleece Hat Take 2!

Well yesterday's hat was titchy tiny when I put (or tired) it on Freddie's head. It would probably be more suited to a 3-6 month old-oops!

So I tried again today, slightly different style with ear flaps, and after measuring his head so I could be sure it would actually fit.

Fleece Hat

Just made a fleece hat for Freddie, just need him to wake up now from his nap so I can make sure it fits and decide if it needs some kind of embellishment.

New Fleece Hoodies

Whilst Freddie had a super long nap yesterday afternoon I was feeling creative and decided to make a fleece for him. The top is completely hand made and I'm so happy with it, The hood took a bit of effort though and turned out a really bizarre shape on the first attempt. Managed to rectify that though.

Then came the embellishment part, I decided to try reverse applique, where the fabric is sewn onto the back and the front is cut to show the fabric through. I love the result, I also love the penguin shape.

DSC09849

Freddie loves it too, he cried when I took it off him the first time when I was just checking the sleeve length!

Here's some pic of him modeling my newest creation :)

Baby Iced Giraffes

This little top is for a collab with TNG and Lush Tush, with woolies and a tiny newborn nappy. I think it's just adorable and think I'm going to get something similar (or the same) made for my new little baby nearer the time too.

The Very Hungry Caterpiller

I had this lovely fabric sent to me to applique onto these T-shirts.
They turned out really well :)
I really love the dotty one, it's so colourful!

Hedgehog T-shirts

Enjoyed making these long sleeve hedgehog tops this morning for a customer of Lisa at the Nappy Garden.
I really love this fabric, got me right in the mood for Autumn, loving the orangery tones and little hedgehogs!

Hope they'll look great with the longies and hat!

Baby Boots

Now that the mornings are getting colder, and we have to be out of the house by 7:15am to take my husband to the train station. The mornings are a huge rush, now in the summer I would just bung Freddie in the car in the same clothes he slept in, but now I have to put some tracksuit bottoms on or something. I am starting to really feel for his cold toes, he hates sitting still long enough to put socks on so I thought I'd I have had a go at making some soft fleece reversible baby boots for him to wear.

This was the result, unfortunately I made them too small :( I forgot the lining would make it a bit smaller inside-damn! But I like them, think I will have another go with different fabric and get some interfacing so the soles are a bit firmer for him to walk in them if necessary.

Freddie's Birthday T-shirt

Freddie's 1st Birthday is coming up in a coupe of weeks (where has the time gone ?? )
So I spent some time this morning making him a t-shirt to wear for his jungle themed party! I loved the rainforest t-shirt I made for The Nappy Garden so much that I used the same fabric in the shape of a number one.

DSC09141

I have contemplated trying to applique his name on the back of the t-shirt (football shirt style) but not 100% on that idea yet.

I don't have enough fabric to make matching shorts for this outfit, so need to find something to complete it. Possible denim shorts or jeans (depending on weather). Or I might buy some more of the fabric for shorts.

Baby Photoshoot!

I wanted to get some shots of the strawberry dress in action so Lucie kindly allowed me to photograph her daughter Lola.

DSC09103DSC09102DSC09109

What a fab model she was, she actually sat still and did a few smiles straight to camera. It was actually more difficult to get shots of the back of the dress as she didn't want to face away.

It was much more of a struggle to get a photo of Lola and Freddie together as he just ran away as soon as we sat him down! After some quick shots and bribes with a toy with wheels I managed to take a few.

And then it was time to 'paint' a banner for their joint birthday party with fingers and feet! Oh the fun!!! Not trying that again with Freddie till he can hold a paintbrush!

T-shirts for The Nappy Garden

Over the weekend I had some fun making some t-shirts for Lisa at The Nappy Garden. They coordinate perfectly with some wool that will be on her site soon and be turned into cute little outfits.

3 T-shirts

I had some trouble letting go of the rainforest one. But knew it will look fab on someone elses little one with the matching longies or shorties to go with it!

Rainforest T-shirt by you.

The strawberry one turned out so much better than I could had imagined, need to do some of those shaped appliques!!!

I also made a safari lion t-shirt for Lisa own son too, hope he likes it :)

The Start of a New Adventure

I've been loving making clothes for my baby son, and have got positive comments. So I decided I should try and see if I could sell some of the stuff I have been making.
All the boy items I make, I can't resist keeping for Freddie. So I made a dress to be my first instock item on misi. Everything else so far can be custom made to order.
